HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Yeah, that's really it. Nothing new really. Work's been crappy -- I want to trade my kids in for new, some that sleep at naptime and aren't crabby.

Today's the parade at work -- that should be interesting. Starts at 9:45, my kids are used to sleeping until 10 still. So I have a good day ahead of me ... hopefully I only have 2 kids (so not going to happen, at least 3 I'm sure).

Flu Shot Part 2

So Nick got his flu shot today at Employee Health at the hospital. He asked the nurse about my side effects to the shot after reading that they were in fact side effects. Yeah, apparently I shouldn't have had that high of a temp 2 years in a row (or something like that) because of the different strains of flu or something (I'm sure he'll correct me when/if he reads this). So basically ... probably has something to do with the egg, and I should talk to my doctor about it. So, I go see the doctor on Nov. 22 to discuss my options in the future for the flu shot (how about not getting one anymore??? that sounds like a great option to me, who needs needles???) My plans for this weekend are now to gorge myself on eggs to see how I feel :)

So, tomorrow I get to go back to work and point out a bunch of stuff to the people at work who don't read the side effect lists like they're supposed to (why'd you come into work with a temp??? you're always contagious if you have a fever ... if that's the truth I'd never work, I always have a "temp" it seems ... stupid people).

Also, my car died tonight. At Target. When I was already an hour past supper time. Called Dad to rescue us (stopped at home to pick Nick up to go along, when he checked the engine he saw nothing wrong. Dad comes along, and tightens a cable thingie on the battery ... while some good Samaritian went to get some neat thing to jump a car that doesn't involve a second car).

Think that's it.

Flu Shot Time of Year

Ugh, I really hate this time of year. And I really hate that I can get them for free at work. And I really really hate the way the make me feel afterwards. Got my shot yesterday during naptime, from the incompetent health room nurse (come on, shouldn't a nurse at least know what Metformin is???, I can kind of understand not knowing what insulin resistance is, but Metformin???) Immediately afterwards had that fun discomfort in my arm from having shots in there (flu shot, and TB screen). By the time we got home last night from running errands, I had headache, body ache to go with the sore arm. Didn't sleep a wink pretty much, cuz no matter how I turned, that stupid arm hurt. This morning -- now the fun begins. Exhaustion (from shot and from not sleeping, I'm sure), body aches bad enough I couldn't stay standing up to finish showering, ended up sitting and taking a bath and pretty much falling asleep in the bathtub, and the fever -- 102.4 the highest, and that's on Motrin. Today should be fun at work. Already knew with the combo of kids I had today, it was gonna be a rough one, and that's before it clicked with me how miserable I'm gonna be today. UGH!

Thank goodness

this week is over. It's been a horrible, horrible, crappy week! (And sadly, everyone at work agrees -- weather change must be coming with how my kids were acting this week).

But, this video sure made it all better ... I can't stop listening to it. I love llamas!

Off to figure out where Nick's going for supper, change into comfy clothes, deal with my headache/migraine that's finally starting to hit, and possibly take a nap.

Never having kids

OMG ... what a crappy crappy crappy day. All my kids did today was scream at me. All 4 of them. All day. Except naptime. Which only lasted an hour or so before kids started waking up constantly. They were great birth control today. Tomorrow will be more of the same, weeeeee.

It's amazing how alcohol can immediately relax you ... first shot I felt like everything flow out of my body. Second shot I savored. Now I have to wait at least an hour before I can have any more. So going to feel this tomorrow.
